Help Searching
the Database
Using the Local Boards online database is
really no different from any other search
engine. Our desire is to help you find a partnership
or program as easily as possible, for that
reason there are numerous ways to search.
Search Mode
Search mode may be set to Simple or Advanced.
You may move between either mode and maintain
your search keyword.
Simple Search Mode
While in simple search mode you may enter
any keyword that pertains to a Partnership
or Program. Your keyword can be any word found
in the Partnership's title or body content,
the results of your simple search can be filtered
by using the Local Board name if necessary.
This type of search is quite broad and
will sometimes yield indirect results but
is helpful when performing a general search
for lets say all "apprenticeships"
or all "apprenticeships" in the
"Simcoe County Training Board"
Advanced Search Mode
Searching in Advanced Mode will allow for
very defined searches of all Partnerships
and Programs. While set to search in this
mode you may still use keywords to search
or use other search criteria.
Board Area
All Local Boards have names that are descriptive
of their geographic locations.
Keyword
Every partnership is made up of Title, Description,
Key Partners, Outcome and Status. All of
these areas can be searched using a single
or multiple keyword search,
Partnership Type
All Partnerships and Programs are developed
so as to be classified easily. You could
then filter your search by restricting your
search results to only one type of program.
Year
Refine your search results by showing only
those that apply to the current year, or
search for historic programs and partnerships
